Magnesium Jet - Melting

A melt-stream is directed towards the ingot or the recycling-material; simultaneously the melt circulates in  the entire crucible  and is completely involved in the melting process; this leads to the following advantages:

  • The exposer time of the material between Solidus and Liquidus is reduced drastically.
  • Less segregations and therefore less sludge
  • Extended crucible-lifetime because of more evenly distributed temperature along the crucible-wall
  • Representative temperature-measurement in the liquid metal
  • Quicker activation of temperature-measurement
  • More exact temperature-regulation of the melt

The requested melt stream  is brought about through a jetpump, which is intercoordinated to the parameter of the crucible.

This pump has a sturdy design and due to the material-selection wear-resistant and durable.

The routine maintenance can take place without lifting the pump out of the melt

It operates best if the pieces to be melted are stopped at the right position in an affiliated shaft  near the outlet of the pump.
